The history of the Trafalgar United Methodist Church goes back to 1836, when a plot of land was deeded for the erection of a place of worship in Pleasant Grove. Worshipers reorganized the local Methodist church in 1870 and records show it was relocated to Trafalgar in 1875. A new church was built on Pearl Street in Trafalgar and was dedicated in 1901. The current Pleasant Street location was dedicated in 2011 and was constructed largely with the efforts of parishioners It is the consolidation of United Methodist churches in Trafalgar and Peoga.
